Illinois State Board of Education

ISBE’s Technology and Engineering Education Division has helped to develop “Illinois PLTW Course Delivery Options for ISBE CTE Funding  and supports PLTW and other statewide technology education efforts. See further ISBE information.

University of Illinois

The University of Illinois became a PLTW National Affiliate University in 2004, offering Core Training Institutes sessions on its Chicago and Urbana-Champaign campuses since 2005, sponsoring statewide PLTW conference and professional development activities, coordinating program implementation and recordkeeping, and maintaining the statewide Illinois PLTW program website (www.pltw.uillinois.edu).

University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Engineering (www.engineering.uic.edu/), University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) College of Engineering (www.engineering.illinois.edu), and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign School of Architecture (www.arch.illinois.edu/) offer assistance with teacher core training institutes and encourage PLTW student alumni to pursue post-secondary STEM education.

PLTW School Grant Program

National PLTW’s School Grant Program, made possible through generous support from partners, provides several grant support application opportunities for PLTW schools. Illinois PLTW Leadership Advisory Board

An Advisory Board meets periodically to advise the Illinois PLTW Leadership Team (representing University of Illinois, Illinois State Board of Education, national PLTW, and Illinois business/industry) on program implementation and industry trend matters.
