- In order to register for any Summer Core Training Institute, your school must have submitted signed school agreement to Project Lead The Way, Inc and you must be a registered PLTW teacher. New teachers may be invited by official District Delegate ( or School Administrator designee for new 2013-14 schools) to attach to a school record. Then, effective April 1, 2013, teachers may log in to their Extranet record, and register for a session in the Professional Development section. (NOTE that there are no longer any online 'Pre-assessments" required prior to CTI registration. Online Virtual Academy resource lessons will become available in May to assist teachers with advance preparation for summer sessions.)
- Teachers must attend Illinois CTI locations for courses offered in-state unless special conflict permission is granted.
- Note that, due to anticipated high enrollment interest for some sessions, Illinois PLTW may provide "Reservation Codes" to schools to assure slots.
- Illinois teachers wishing to enroll in other PLTW CTI courses not offered in Illinois should consult with Affiliate DirectorBrenda Pacey for assistance, as soon as possible, to assure training reservation slots at other locations.
- After national online CTI registration is entered, teachers (and District Delegates/administrators) will receive an email Authorization to Attend Summer Training Form from Illinois PLTW to be completed and returned to our office in order to finalize your registration and to arrange for electronic invoicing to your school/district.
- Teachers MUST bring a laptop computer which meets specifications found in the Instructions section of the online PLTW Purchase Manual. Note: watch for updated technical specifications to be posted in Spring 2013, along with information related to access to and loading of appropriate course-specific software prior to Summer CTI training.
- Teachers must arrive to campus by early or mid-afternoon of the first Sunday of each CTI, so that institute technology staff can review/assist with laptop technology and software and so that you can attend important information and instructional sessions from 3:30-7:30 pm.
- Registered teachers will receive frequent email and mail communication from University of Illinois PLTW office during spring and early summer, with schedule and local arrangements details and updates as they become available.
