PLTW New School Orientation

We are pleased to invite new Illinois Project Lead the Way school building Principals and PLTW District Delegate (formerly known as District Primary Contact) to an Illinois PLTW New School Orientation Session hosted by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on Tuesday, March 18, 2008.


A general schedule overview for the day's activities:

8:45 - 9:00 am Coffee and networking

9:30 am - 12:00 pm Illinois PLTW Orientation and Program Implementation Work Session for ADMINISTRATORS: Topics will include national and state PLTW communication and program updates; technology, software licensing, and facilities planning; teacher summer training institute registration and pre-planning; equipment, supplies, resource purchase; local school/community and regional cooperative support; ongoing program development, school certification; and more.

9:15 am- 12:00 pm (Inventor introduction, provided by Illinois Autodesk educational vendor IMAGINiT and aimed at new PLTW teachers unfamiliar with this software used in IED and GTT; teachers attending will be escorted to training site two blocks away–see details below)

12:00 - 1:00 pm Required Principals meeting for Kern Family Foundation Grant recipient school representatives (more details will be sent separately to this group)

12:00 - 1:00 pm Box Lunch/Departure or Individual consulting time with Illinois PLTW leaders
