At the October 28, 2011 Illinois Technology Educators Conference (ITEC) opening session in Bloomington, the Technology Education Association of Illinois (TEAI) and Illinois Drafting Education Association (IDEA) presented several annual awards of excellence, including several which recognized efforts of schools, industry representatives,  and educators involved in the Project Lead The Way program:

                IDEA Teacher of the Year—Corey Duzan, PLTW IED Instructor at Neuqua Valley High School (Indian Prairie School District 204, Naperville)

                TEAI/ITEA Program of the Year—St. Charles East HS (St. Charles District 303); the department’s programs include PLTW courses taught by Michael Dewees

                TEAI Administrator of the Year—Steve Parrott, ISBE, Technology and Engineering Principal Consultant,  and Illinois PLTW State Leader

                TEAI Technology Education New Teacher Award—Peter Goss, Conant HS (Palatine-Schaumburg District 211), who teaches PLTW POE classes

                IDEA Vendor Appreciation Award—Dan Coleman, MasterGraphics Autodesk Vendor

                ITEC Concidine Award—Brenda Pacey, University of Illinois PLTW Affiliate Director
