July 23 and 28 IED Curriculum Revision Update Workshops Scheduled

PLTW IED Curriculum Update one-day workshop sponsored by Illinois Project Lead Way offered in two locations:

- Monday, July 23 - 9am-3pm
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

- Saturday, July 28 - 9am-3pm
University of Illinois at Chicago

Target Audience:
These curriculum update workshops are aimed at teachers who have completed IED training in past years, to help prepare for implementation of revised curriculum in 2007-08 school year.

Cost:
$50.00 per person will be charged for partial workshop cost recovery.

Registration opens June 19, 2007
Registration deadline is July 13, 2007.

Background:
-The PLTW IED curriculum structure has been revised and field-tested and is now complete; the format flow changes will be reflected in this summer’s 2007 IED Summer Training Institutes.

-The University of Illinois is hosting two sessions of IED this summer to assist teachers trained in IED in past years to receive hands-on updates. Sessions will be taught by two experienced IED Master Teachers, Bob Hays (Indiana) and Jim Kremer (Missouri).

-All Illinois teachers previously trained in IED are strongly encouraged to attend one of these sessions. The revised curriculum is available for download now at the PLTW Virtual Academy ( see “go to class” at the national website for details.)

-Lunch and workshop materials will be provided; teachers should bring laptops and power cords.
