Spring 2018 PLTW student project expo events around the state involved
hundreds of students and community members.

Just a few of the many activities featuring capstone and special projects:

* May 24 Chicago Public Schools CTE Pre-Engineering Senior Capstone Day at U of Illinois Chicago (UIC) Student Center, cohosted with University of Illinois PLTW and UIC College of Engineering
35 project teams from 10 high schools discussed their work with a dozen community engineers and higher education representatives, with more than 150 other underclassman PLTW students joining for a day of networking and cheering on finalist team presentations;

* April 23 cooperative EDD competition for 55 teams at Neuqua Valley HS
a culmination of collaborative discussions among 5 schools begun at earlier Illinois PLTW Statewide Teachers Workshop sessions to build regional camaraderie among PLTW students;

* April 20 SKILLS USA Engineering Design competition in Springfield
PLTW students made up 20 of the 22 team presentations.

* April and May events
West Aurora HS (EDD team presentations and community partner critique); first-ever EDD team presentation and IED/POE night at Oak Lawn HS, drawing 150 parents and community members;  and annual early morning community EDD breakfast expo and  team presentations at J.S. Morton East High School; and Moline HS PLTW student open house and project demonstration night, showcasing work of more than 100 students and attracting several hundred parents and business partners.
